Preeti is a Ferriss-Berkeley Psychedelic Journalism Fellow and Rosalynn Carter Mental Health Journalism Fellow, reporting on what it means to decolonize psychedelics and researching a book on South Asian mental health and psychedelics. She is an instructor in the Integrate Evolve Queer Psychedelic Facilitator Education Program and the CIIS Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research Psychedelic Facilitator Training. She has spoken on five continents at events including Psychedelic Science, the Global Landscapes Forum, WOMAD, Terra Madre, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the Festival of Dangerous Ideas.
Simran has lectured on integenerational trauma and psychedelics, Asian mental health, biodiversity, climate change, and sustainability at institutions including the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, Cornell University, the Commonwealth Club, the Sydney Opera House, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and Smith College (which awarded her the 2009 Smith College Medal).
