Welcome. I am an integrative therapist and founder of Vidya Integrative Therapy committed to attending to the wholeness of those I support. My work honors the interconnected nature of healing. Our minds, bodies, and spirits are not separate; all aspects deserve to be known, heard, and held.
At Vidya Integrative Therapy, I focus on nurturing your innate healing intelligence and enhancing your strengths and capacity for flourishing. I draw on my training in psychology theory and praxis, as well as somatic and energetic practices rooted in South Asian healing, prioritizing decolonial and strengths-based interventions. My approach is one of cultural humility and celebration of ancestral wisdom and resilience. Our communities have endured extreme challenges, survived, and often thrived—not in spite of our hardships but because of them. I am who I am because of all that we are.
Much of my work supports the healing of direct and intergenerational trauma—specifically how residual trauma lives in the bodies of Asians and immigrants who have direct experience or are the descendants of ancestors forcibly displaced by war, violence, natural disaster, or the loss of homeland. Those experiences—whether spoken or kept silent—may continue to live in the body. Through holistic exploration and integration, we address the pain and power of identity and work to release what is held but no longer benefits us.
I culturally-rooted practices from my lineage that include pranayama (breath regulation), yogic philosophy, chakra science, Ayurveda, and sati (mindfulness) along with modern evidence-based practices. It is not a rigid framework, but a co-created, empowerment-based, intersectional model informed by who you are and what you need to navigate these times. Embedded in the work is the knowing that we heal in and through relationship and community.
My practice is trauma-informed and queer- and neurodivergent-affirming. I work with clients of all backgrounds, prioritizing care for Asians, immigrants and children of immigrants, and those at the threshold of menopause. (Hormonal changes intersect with changes in mood, cognition, and identity. As such, expanded menopause support includes collaborative consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor.)
I hold a Master of Science in Coaching Psychology and Applied Positive Psychology with a research focus on South Asian mental health, and am accredited through the EMCC. I also hold advanced certifications in pranayama, yoga and yoga nidra, and trauma-informed care, and have trained in menopause coaching support, birth and end-of-life doula support, Core Synchronism, reiki, and Hakomi therapy. My work is informed by lived experience with physical and emotional challenges and values of curiosity, love, and justice.
I founded the Asian Psychedelic Collective (the first organization of belonging for Asians working with psychedelics) and was part of the only equity cohort at Fireside Project (a warmline for those who are actively in or integrating a past psychedelic experience). I also helped review and develop the Psychedelic Practitioner Guidelines for the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association. I hold certifications from Integrate and other psychedelic facilitation programs where I completed practicums with ketamine, MDMA, and psilocybin. I draw on these trainings in my offering of psychedelic (ketamine)-assisted therapy. Please email for details and pricing on KAP.
I offer both telehealth and in-person sessions in the Washington, DC area on unceded Piscataway land. My rate is $250 per fifty-minute session for integrative therapy. While I don’t accept insurance, I am committed to ensuring financial barriers don’t prevent anyone from accessing care and offer a broad sliding scale and payment plans.
Therapeutic support for those directly impacted by ICE is always pro bono or by donation. I also lead free, bimonthly Rest Circles for immigrant rights groups and allies in Maryland and co-facilitate free, confidential, monthly support circles for South Asians navigating immigration concerns. These guides on ICE encounters and family preparedness include additional mental health resources that may also be helpful.
I warmly invite you to reach out via email for a complimentary twenty-minute connection call to learn more about my work or join the aforementioned circles.
